Rotational (Transverse) Plane Parameters

Boot offset is the angle at which the foot sits abducted (duck footed) from centerline and affects knee tracking. Most boots have some degree of abduction. This is not an adjustable parameter of the boot (with exception of some world cup racing boots). Binding position is a relatively new option with the Marker racing plate that allows a symmetrical or offset mount.

Cuff axis tracking is determined primarily by rivet attachment points connecting the upper cuff to the lower shell creating the flex axis. this is not an easily changed parameter, so it should be a consideration when choosing a boot for the skier’s needs.
